Ski & Snowboard Program at Nashoba Valley

Nashoba Valley will not be able to safely offer any Recreation Department or School Program Groups during the 2020-2021 season. Nashoba is offering "bubble" lessons and lift ticket only badges for families. This can must be purchased directly through Nashoba. Join Arlington Recreation for the Ski & Snowboard Program at Nashoba Valley Ski Area in Westford, MA this winter. This program is open to both skiers and snowboarders of all experience levels, beginner to advance. This (4) session program includes lift tickets, one-hour lessons, and transportation to the Nashoba Valley weekly. Participants will have the opportunity for ski/ride freely before and after their designated lesson time. Participants not interested in lessons can note this at registration. The program fee will only be $30.00 less if not selecting a lesson
Registration Note (IMPORTANT PLEASE READ): With the current uncertainty of what the next several months will look like in terms of the impacts of COVID-19, payment for the program fee will not be due at the time of registration this year. We plan on offering this program as advertised and registration reserves your child’s spot in the program. If we are able to offer the program, the current registration fee of $350.00 per participant (or $320.00 if no lesson sleceted) will be added to your MyRec account and must be paid prior to the program. All families will be notified when/if program fees are added to your account.
It is important to note that changes may be made to the program details (price, day, time, etc.) if necessary. Registration for this program is limited and accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. We will update everyone with program information updates/changes as soon as information is available.

Parent Chaperons Needed: We are looking for several parents/guardians to serve as chaperons for this program. Chaperons are assigned to same group for the entire program and are responsible for taking attendance, assisting with equipment rental, and chaperoning participants at Nashoba Valley. All Chaperons are allowed to ski/ snowboard for free during designated times. However, we need a full commit to the (4) week program if you would like to chaperon. If you are interested in being a chaperon for this program, please complete note this at the time of registration and enter the requested information.
Equipment Rental: There will be a fitting session held in December at the Ed Burns Arena for those who are renting ski and snowboard equipment. Snowboard rentals include board and boots. Ski rentals include skis, poles, and boots. Rentals will stay at Nashoba weekly and be given to those renting upon arrival.
Rentals are estimated to be $105 for the season, checks payable the night of the fitting directly to Nashoba Valley (additional to registration fee). If you plan on renting through Nashoba and do not make the date of the fitting, it will be necessary to go to Nashoba on your own before the first session for a private fitting. Helmets will be sold at the fitting for $60. Helmets can also be rented for $45.
Transportation: The bus will meet at the Ed Burns Arena, 422 Summer St. We will begin boarding buses at approximately 12:45pm, with the departure goal being 1:00pm. Arlington Recreation will provide transportation to and from Nashoba. Students will return to the Ed Burns Arena as close to 5:30pm for pick up.
Cancellations: If a session needs to be postponed due to inclement weather, the session will be made up the next consecutive Wednesday.
Grades: 3 – 5
Dates: Wednesdays, January 6th – January 27th (4 Sessions)
Time: 1:00pm – 5:30pm (Lessons approximately at 3:15pm weekly)
Lesson Included: $350.00 per participant
No Lesson: $330.00 per participant
Participants should be independent, able to keep track of their possessions, and keep to a schedule. Direct supervision by chaperons is not provided to participants while they are physically skiing or snowboarding. All participants will be required to use buddy system. Chaperons are always available at base to provide supervision and help as needed. Nashoba Valley Ski Patrol monitor slopes for all those on site.
Helmets are required to be worn by all participants.
