Call for Entries: Art Rocks Menotomy!
Arlington Parks and Recreation in coordination with Arlington Public Art and Arlington Center for the Arts, is pleased to announce its first art exhibition in a local park. We are seeking proposals for temporary outdoor sculptures to be considered for installation in Menotomy Rocks Park near Arlington Center. These artworks will serve to engage the public in considering the relationship between art and the environment.
The exhibition area will be on the lawn up to the pond facing Jason Street. Artists do not have to be Arlington residents.
The exhibition will run from Saturday, May 3 – Monday, May 26, 2014 with an opening reception on Sunday, May 4 from 3 to 5 pm .
Art work will be chosen based on quality, durability and suitability for an outdoor public environment, as well as safety of the public.
A stipend of $100 will be awarded to each chosen artist to help defray costs of materials.

Entries will be juried by members of Arlington Public Art.
Artist submission checklist
- Submission form and entry fee of $15 for up to three pieces - checks should be made out to Arlington Recreation
- Sketches of the artwork(s) proposals, if not already created, including list of materials to be used
- Artist statement – no more than one paragraph
- Resumé including email contact information
- Up to 6 JPEGs for each entered work formatted as follows: 300 dpi image resolution. Maximum file size per image - 2 MB
